Shoot-A-Thon 2025

 

 

The Athletic Boosters host 2 fundraisers (Golf Outing and Shoot-a-Thon) that provide major support for ALL of Villa’s athletic programs. 

Last year, we raised more than $10,000 for Villa Athletics! The event is broken down into different fun events for all.

Free Throw Competition

Students are to find people to pledge an amount of money per shot made within a 3 minute period from a designated foul line. Sponsors may also choose to make a fixed donations instead. Prizes will be awarded to the top shooters and fundraisers! 

Free Throw Face Off Contest

Parents, coaches, students, and faculty are also encouraged to participate in a friendly free throw competition. Challenge your husband, wife, son, daughter, or friend to see who can make the most shots in two minutes, The loser has to donate $10 to shoot-a-thon. 

Competition Is Open to Everyone!

You do not have to be on a Villa basketball team to participate in this fun event. If you or your family wants to try your hand at the Free Throw Contest, please join us! Simply complete the pledge sheet, and show up anytime between 9AM and 3PM. Tell the registration volunteers that you are in the Open Division!

Concessions

The concession stand will be open during Shoot-a-Thon. 

Prizes

Prizes are awarded in many categories!

  • Top Open Division Shooter On Each Team-boys and girls
  • Top Fundraiser in Grades 1-6
  • Top Fundraiser in Grades 7-12

 

Team Photos

Basketball team yearbook and individual photos will also be taken that day at each team’s designated time in the gym conference room, so please arrive in uniform. Immediately following photos, your team will proceed to the gym floor for the Shoot-a-Thon competition.

Time Line 2024

  • January 24- February 7th - Coaches, distribute pledge packet forms to their players as soon as possible. Players collect pledge donations.
  • Saturday, February 8th - Shoot-a-thon Day – Competition and basketball team photos.
  • Monday, February 10th - Winners will be announced and prizes distributed at elementary appreciation night. 
 
CHECK IN - You must turn in a pledge sheet at the check in table in the gym foyer in order to participate in the competition. If all of your pledges are flat (no per shot pledges), please submit your donation at the registration table when you arrive (cash or check made payable to Villa Madonna Academy). 
 
BASKETBALL TEAM PHOTOS - Staging Area will be next to the Concession Stand for basketball team photos. Photos will be in the Conference Room. Please wear your basketball uniform. 
 
SHOOT - Teams will shoot together and rebound for each other. Volunteers will assist with Open Division shooters and shot recording.
 
REPORT - When you are finished shooting, make sure your coach or a volunteer records your results. 
 
CHECK OUT - If you have per shot pledges, return to the registration table to complete your donation. After recording your score and pledges, the pledge sheet will be returned to you, if necessary, so that you can collect your pledges and reimburse yourself for the amount paid on the day of the event.
