What's Your Vision?

What is your vision for your future? That is a question our guidance counselor put to Villa Madonna Academy freshmen. Mr. Walter Ingram asked students to envision their future and to put pen to paper to write down their ideas. The project was to create a vision board. A vision board is a representation of the vision one has for the life one wants to live.

Vision boards encourage one to think about the future and can be helpful in setting goals. Vision boards can motivate. They can help one prioritize. Some suggest hanging up a vision board in a prominent place as a daily reminder of plans and dreams. Others say once the thoughts are on paper, one should throw away the vision board and turn dreams into action. If you had to put together a vision board, what would yours look like? Would you hang it or pitch it?

Exercises such as creating a vision board are just one part of the guidance curriculum at Villa. The guidance department is committed to helping students plan for the future. It also helps connect students with opportunities that will help them get closer to their goals. To learn more about our guidance department, contact Janet Baugh at 859-331-6333 ext. 139.
