Sharpen those No. 2 pencils. It's Terra Nova testing time. Villa Madonna Academy students from grades 1-8 will participate in the testing that will take place from April 13-20. Why Terra Nova testing? Villa Madonna Academy elementary principal Soshana Bosley said, "Our school administers the TerraNova Achievement Test which measures a child’s ability to perform in basic areas such as reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies and science. TerraNova scores measure each child’s growth in essential skill areas, and serve as a standard of measure to help us continue to evaluate our curriculum and progress."
As Villa strives to improve the education provided to your child, it's important to evaluate the success of the curriculum. Terra Nova testing helps this. You can help your child prepare by making sure he or she gets a good night's sleep. Did you know 10 hours is what many pediatricians recommend for students in elementary school? Also, don't forget a healthy breakfast. We know for some children this may be a stressful time, but our teachers are trying to make sure the students have a positive attitude about it. Thank you for your support in this!
