Students Meet New Buddies
Sep 09, 2015
One of the benefits of attending a K-12 school is the opportunity for learning projects across grade levels. One of the best examples of this is Villa Madonna Academy's Buddy Program. Students in kindergarten are paired with seventh graders; first graders are paired with eighth grade students; and second graders are paired with sixth graders. This week, many of the students met their buddies. Over the course of the school year, the buddy pairs work on reading, craft, and service projects together. The opportunity allows the older students to become role models for the younger students, and the K-2 students have the benefit of knowing one of the big kids at school. It's such a sight to see the little ones' faces light up when they see their buddies at school. Ask your son or daughter about their buddies and what they did together this week.
