Each spring, students and faculty pause for a moment to celebrate the Blessed Mother Mary. May Crowning is a Catholic tradition in which a likeness of Mary is crowned to acknowledge her role as the Queen of Heaven. Mary is honored with a crown of flowers. Children also bring in flowers to place near Mary to show their devotion. The flowers symbolize Mary's virtues which our students try to mirror.
Villa's May Crowning ceremony is a fitting way to celebrate our Catholic traditions and to enjoy the beauty all around us.
