Code and Go!

Coding may sound intimidating to some adults, but to our first grade students, coding is fun. They worked in the VMA Fab Lab with technology teacher, Mrs. Debbie Young, to create a unique path - complete with pictures of cheese for snacking and  other animals friends - for our Code and Go mouse.  They then took turns coding the mouse to follow the trail. Here you see two students showing first grade teacher, Mrs, Theresa Spaulding-Horn, how it works.

Villa's faculty works to integrate technology in meaningful ways that will help prepare students for the future. Coding starts in kindergarten and continues through elementary school. In junior high, computer classes continue with lessons in Photoshop, coding, editing, and more. In high school, students have opportunities to explore classes such as Web Programming, Advanced Placement Computer Science, and Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles.
