Celebrating Our Traditions
May 28, 2020
Villa Madonna Academy's 115 year history has produced many traditions. This year, the Academy had to make changes to its traditions due to the challenges posed by COVID-19. While students could not celebrate graduation together at Mother of God Church in Covington, we celebrated with a drive thru Conferring of Diplomas. Principal Pamela McQueen passed out diplomas to the Class of 2020. Don Shields, Joe Cordonnier, and Sr. Eileen O'Connell handed the graduates their scholarship awards and the traditional roses, top hats, and canes. Meanwhile, high school and junior high faculty lined Villa's beautiful drive to clap for each graduate as they drove by.
Thank you to the faculty, staff, and families who worked to make Villa's graduation as special as possible during these unique and challenging times.
