Villa Madonna Academy Elementary School has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2017. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance.

Principal Soshana Bosley – herself a Villa alumna – said of the award, “We are proud to be recognized again as a National Blue Ribbon School.  This recognition is an honor for our entire school community including our faculty, staff, students, families, and community supporters, and it validates our commitment to academic excellence."

This is the second National Blue Ribbon for the elementary school. The elementary school was recognized ten years ago in 2007. Villa Madonna Academy High School is a Blue Ribbon school having won back-to-back honors.

This coveted award affirms the hard work of educators, families and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.

Now in its 35th year, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has bestowed recognition on more than 8,500 schools. On Nov. 6-7, the Secretary and the Department of Education will celebrate with these honorees at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Bosley will travel to D.C. with teacher Ms. Jennifer Yuenger to receive the award.

To celebrate this great honor, we have some special events planned.

October 27:  Blue Day - All may be out of uniform in blue; special treat at lunch

November 21:  Blue Ribbon Ceremony -   11:00 A.M. in the gym

November 27:  No School -  This gives everyone an extended Thanksgiving break!

Thank you to our Villa faculty, students, and families who give so much to our school! This award would not be possible without your support and dedication to Villa!
