The purpose of the iPad program at Villa Madonna Academy is to enhance teaching and learning opportunities by providing tools and resources appropriate to 21st century learners. The highest level of learning is evidenced when a learner integrates his/her existing knowledge with new information, skills, or ideas to create a new idea or product. Villa Madonna Academy believes that by integrating access to iPads into classroom instruction we will allow students opportunities to explore, research, and create, resulting in this higher-level learning.  Teachers and parents serve the important roles of guides and facilitators for students in this process of discovery and mastery of skills and information.

Villa Madonna Academy has issued school-owned, school-managed iPads to all students in grades 6-12. Other grades have class sets of iPads to utilize during school hours.  All Villa 7th-12th grade iPads are equipped with a standard set of apps designed to accommodate a wide range of uses, including note-taking, reading, writing, and project creation.   Additional subject-specific apps may be added at teacher request.  iPads for grades 1-6 are equipped with teacher-selected apps which vary by grade level.  Villa Madonna’s iPads use wifi to access the internet, as opposed to 3-G access.  Ms. Tricia Smaracko currently administers Villa's 7 - 12 iPad program.
